Ray Pyeatt read the treasurer’s report. Ray stated we have an ending balance of $2851.44.  A motion was made to approve the treasurer’s report by Tommy Dale and seconded by Gilbert Gonzales.  Motion was approved by all.

Old Business:

Dan Fletcher gave a report on the “Christmas in July” toy run.  The toy run will be Saturday, the 30th of July starting in the Arvest Bank parking lot on Cache Rd.  The participants will meet between 9:00 and 10:00 AM and the Motorcycle parade will start at 10:00 AM led by Sheriff Stradley, ending in the Central Mall parking lot.  Dan said we are hoping the CMA motorcycle club will provide refreshments at the end of the run.  Dan is asking our chapter members to try to find a business to donate chips and snacks.

New Business:

Dan brought everybody up to date on the “Christmas in July” toy run.  Dave showed the chapter members the flyer that the toy run committee approved.  Dave stated he can print 500 black and white flyers and 200 color flyers for about $20.00.  Ray Pyeatt says the parade permit from the city will cost $50.00.  A motion was made to approve the cost of the flyers and the permit by Ray Pyeatt and seconded by Tommy Dale.  The motion was approved by all.

Tommy Dale suggested we set up a booth in the central mall parking lot at the end of the run to sell 50/50 tickets and place the prizes for give away.  Dan was asking for volunteers to sell 50/50 tickets.  If you can be a volunteer to sell the tickets, please contact Dan.  Tommy said the 50/50 tickets will also be the tickets participants will use during the drawing for door prizes.

A motion was made by Dan Fletcher to add to the chapter by laws, authorization for the chapter President to spend up to $100.00 on club business without member’s approval. The motion was seconded by Don Ray.  All members present approved the motion.

Because of a mix up on the OKC bike run, PJ Reavis suggested a phone list of everybody’s cell phone numbers be made so in the future, if something happens, we will have a number to call.  The members present thought it was a good idea, especially Gary Bray.  (Sorry Gary, the devil made me say that).

Ray Pyeatt reminded everyone of the Gen Tommy Franks Freedom ride and poker run.  The run starts at Pro Team Harley Davidson and ends at the Hobart airport on the 30th of May.  The Blue Knights who want to ride are ask to meet at the Cracker Barrel on Gore at 9:30 AM.  Ray says the entrance fee will be $35.00 for advance registration and $45.00 the day of the ride.  This price also includes your entry for the Harley Davidson Fat Boy motorcycle that is going to be given away at the end of the ride.  A flyer can be picked up at Pro Team HD.

Dave told us about the Okla. Gang Affiliation Task Force poker run in OKC on the 5th of June. Dave also stated he was riding up to the BK Midwest Conf. on the 10th of June and would like to know if anyone else will ride up with him.  The conference will be held in Kansas City this year.  The members present approved Dave taking two $25.00 cash envelopes as gifts for door prizes at the Conference.  Dave said John Whittington (LPS Chief of Security) says the Blue Knights from Texas chapter XXI, (Arlington, Tx.), will be coming to Lawton the weekend of June 11th and 12th.  If anybody would like to ride with them while they are here, please contact Dave McDermott or John Whittington.

Don Ray Reavis made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Tommy Dale seconded it.  Dave adjourned the meeting at 7:45 PM.   The next meeting will be on Friday, the 10th of June.  The location will be announced later.

Tommy Dale and Russell Baucom are still mending.  Please pray  for them.  Thank You

Motion to approve the Treasure report was made by Don Ray Reavis and seconded by PJ Reavis. Motion carried.

Old Business:

Dave McDermott reminded us Rick Triolo is putting together a ride to Ft Smith, Ark on the weekend of 15th thru 17 April. If you would like to go, contact Rick Triolo. Other old business will be discussed in the new business section:

New Business:

Dave McDermott read off the proposed changes to the chapter by-laws which was then voted on by the attending members. Dave will post the changes on the chapter website for all to read. The biggest discussion was over the wearing of the LE MC patches on the back of the vest. Upon several tie votes the tie was finally broken by Russell Baucom. It was determined the chapter will not wear the LE MC patches on the back of the vest.

Dan Fletcher talked about having a toy run for the Comanche County Sheriff’s dept. in June. Dan stated that they already had a toy run for Stephens County. By having a toy run in June, we would not be interfering with other toy runs planned by other groups. Comanche County Sheriff Kenny Stradley says he is deeply honored we are doing this for the kids of Comanche County. Sheriff Stradley felt it would be better to have the chapter set up a run to escort the bus loads of kids to the annual Kids Camp this year to see how the turn out goes. Then have a toy run next year if the rider turn out is good this year. Sheriff Stradley informed us of the incident that took place between him and members of the Banditos in which they tried to dominate the toy ride sponsored by the ABATE club two years ago. Sheriff Stradley told the Banditos members that under no circumstances would there be any intimidation of any kind during the kids toy run. Dan is asking for volunteers to help set the run up. Ray Pyeatt made a motion we proceed with plans to have a “Christmas in July” toy run next year. Approval was unanimous. So far the only volunteers are Ron Corcorran , Dave McDermott, Don Ray Reavis and PJ Reavis. PLEASE HELP, CALL DAN.

Dave McDermott says if you want some really interesting reading material, go to the international web site, under members only, and read the 55 page minutes of the International business meeting.

Dave McDermott also told us that due to family health problems, Brent Yarbrough resigned as the chapter Safety Officer. If you would like to be our Safety Officer, please contact Dave.

Dave also discussed up coming rides and events to include the Midwest Conference. They will all be listed under the
coming events section of the chapter web site.

The meeting ended at 8:15 PM and everyone had a great time.

The next meeting is scheduled in Duncan for the 10th of May and the location will be announced at a later date.

Old Business: Dave McDermott told us about the Motorcycle shows at the OKC fair grounds the 19th & 20th of February and in Tulsa the 26th and 27th.

New Business: Dave McDermott told us about a poker run in OKC to benefit the downed officers association on the 5th of April, 2011.

Rick Triolo is in the process of putting together a chapter run to Fort Smith, Ark. More info to come.

Dave McDermott informed us how to view the BK International web sites MEMBERS ONLY section. To log on to the MEMBERS ONLY section your membership number is the user name and your last name is the password.

Dave McDermott opened up a bag of old worms when he discussed the revising of the chapter by-laws. The issue of whether we wear the LE MC (Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club) patches on our vests was brought up again by Rick Triolo. Don Reavis kind of gave us a brief history of this issue. It was finally decided by the members present after a discussion to recommend a change to the by-laws to read: “It will be up to the individual whether they wear the LE MC patches on their vests or not”. This will be voted on at a future date. Dave McDermott stated the BK International by-laws does not give or denies permission to wear the LE MC patches but leaves it up to the individual chapters.

After the long discussion on the LE MC patch issue, we felt it was time to call the meeting to an end. The motion to adjourn was made by Don Ray Reavis and seconded by everybody.

The next meeting will be the 11th of April, 2011 at 6:30 PM and the location will be at Pizza Hut, 6118 Northwest Cache Road, Lawton, OK, (580) 536-0516.
