Jimmy brought up a discussion about putting together a “care” package for Kyle. His wife said that he liked reading material, cookies, and funny tee shirts. He wears an XL. We were told not to send chocolate and not to vacuum seal the package. Please bring your donations to the July meeting and Jean will put the package together and get it sent to him.

Discussion was opened on the scholarship program. Jimmy asked Dan to read the proposal he had prepared. Dan said that he liked the initial proposal that Whitey had done and had just made a few suggestions and minor modification to it. After Dan read his proposal, there was some discussion. It was decided adopt the proposal as written but to form a scholarship committee to look at the applications and make a decision rather than let Cameron University administer the scholarship. We set a base amount of $500 for the scholarship with the membership deciding on a yearly basis if they wanted to raise that amount. It was decided that there is not enough time to get the scholarship information out and processed for the fall semester this year but we want to have it in operation and give a scholarship of $1000 in January of 2010. The scholarship committee will be Brent Yarborough (chairman), John Roche, and Dan Fletcher.
