Meeting was called to order at 7:08 pm

David presented a check for $600 to Christian Archer and FOP Lodge #99 in support of purchasing a K9 unit for the Duncan Police Department.

Bryan and Ron recommended approval of last month’s secretary report. The treasurer report was given by Dave and was recommended approval by Gilbert and Ron. Both motions passed.

David gave a ride report from the All-Okie Meeting that was on Saturday, October 20th, at Fat Bullies, in Davis, OK. The turnout was not that great and only members of OK IV and OK VIII were in attendance.

A motion was made by Dave and seconded by Bryan, which was subsequently passed, to accept the nominations of the following 2019-20 chapter leadership positions:

Vice President – Juan Rodriguez
Secretary/Treasurer – David Woods
Board of Directors – Gilbert Gonzales, Bryan Eades, Ron Corcorran, Dan Fletcher, Michael Jenson, and Dave McDermott

David gave a report on the Kiddieland Fund raiser in support of a new dog for the Duncan Police Department, under the supervision of Officer Christian Archer.

David reminded everyone that the All-Okie Meeting is on Saturday, October 20th. Everyone should meet at the Lawton/Duncan Y at 9:45 AM, for the ride to Fat Bullies, in Davis, OK.

Johnnie was nominated by David for President. Johnnie accepted the nomination.

Ron was nominated by David for Vice President. Ron accepted the nomination.

There were no nomination for a change in the Secretary or Treasurer position.

Dave thank everyone you paid their 2019 dues and reminded that the yearly dues are $36 (we keep $10.00 per member, $1.00 is sent to the Midwest Regional Conference, and $25.00 per member is sent to International for membership dues).

Dan gave a report and is planning a ride from October 26-28, to Waco to see a Texas Ranger Museum and the Texas Hill Country area. Please contact Dan directly if you are interested.

Juan introduced his guest Dale Baldwin, a police officer in Cache, Oklahoma, who is interested in the Blue Knights.

Gill and Whitey approved last month’s minutes

I gave a brief account of our financial status but we did not make official business.

I advised of the All Okie lunch at Fat Bullies meeting at the Lawton Duncan Y 09:30 on 09-22-18. And Kiddie Land fund raiser in 09-23-18 at 17:30.

Christian Archer spoke to us. He is the newly selected canine officer for Duncan PD and he is raising funds to get a police dog. After he left we agreed to give the donations from Kiddie Land to him. Whitey and Chisholm made the motions.

Drewery advised he appreciated Russ from Tx20 for attending a funeral with him for Sgt. Sam Neil.

Dan is planning a ride in October to Waco to see a Texas Ranger museum dates and details to follow.

Whitey and Juan made motions to adjourn.——

Meeting was called to order at 7:18 pm.

David asked if there were any additions/corrections to last month’s secretary report (meeting minutes) that have been posted on the website for everyone to read/review. A motion was made to accept the secretary report by Dan and seconded by Juan (motion passed). Dave presented the treasurer report. A motion was made to accept the treasurer’s report by Dan and seconded by David (motion passed).

David reported:

A quick safety report on checking the front wheel bearings for HD motorcycles, they have a tendency to fail.

Brother Bryan Baker has purchased a home just South of Graham, TX, off of Possum Kingdom Lake, and will be moving there. His plans is to transfer his membership to Texas XX, in Wichita Falls, TX. Bryan was a very active member in the chapter and will be greatly missed.

The plan is to meet at the Lawton/Duncan Y at 9:30 am, on Saturday, September 22nd, 2018, and ride to the “All Okie” lunch at Fat Bullies in Davis, Oklahoma, hosted by the Ardmore Blue Knight Chapter VIIII.

He asked everyone if they would be interested in doing the “Kiddie Land” event again this year from 6-8 pm, with the date to be determined. Everyone was in support of it and the suggested charity is Gabriel’s House Academy which exists to provide a safe, affordable and nurturing after school environment for at-promise children in the 1st – 5th grade in Duncan, Oklahoma.

He mentioned to everyone that this is an election year and that the nominations for President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Board of Directors will happen in October, voting will happen in November, with installation of new officers in December. If you are interested in helping and holding any of these positions, please let him or Dave McDermott know.

He asked one of our newest members, Juan to come up to the front where he presented him with his International Welcome Packet and his colors. Juan introduced his wife, Tammy, and thank everyone in attendance.

David stated that the next month’s meeting will be held in Duncan, Oklahoma, on September 10th, with the location to follow.

Johnnie reported:

He attended a funeral for Lawton Public Schools Officer Aaron Mitchell who passed away August 1st. Officer Mitchell was a dedicated patrolman with the Rush Springs police department before leaving and joining the Lawton Public Schools police department. He was also a U.S. Military veteran and he was laid to rest at the Fort Sill National Cemetery.

He would also like to coordinate a ride/poker ride/event for domestic violence. The GCCJA recently lost corrections officer Rebecca Mae Ancheta who was shot and killed in a senseless act of domestic violence. More details to follow.

We spoke of last month’s minute’s motions approved by Baker and Baucom.

I gave a brief statement of the checkbook account motions to approve Ron & Johnnie.

Business entertained:

• Drewery said that he and Whitey attended a Grady County jailer’s funeral.
• Brian Baker attended Jerry Bryan’s funeral in Tulsa and said there was a nice turnout.
• Brian gave a safety briefing on avoiding power washing Harley wheels because it can remove grease causing damages.
• Russell gave us the good news that his cancer is in remission but he has some issues still to overcome.
• I said arrangements are made for an “All Okie” lunch at Fat Bullies in Davis, Oklahoma, hosted by the Ardmore Blue Knight Chapter VIIII on September 22nd, 2018, at 11:00.
• Dan said since Eades can’t make our meetings because of work we might move the next meeting to a Monday night and we all agreed.

Bryan mentioned as part of his monthly safety briefing that based on International’s guidance, you must wear a helmet when riding as/in an official Blue Knights group/event. Bryan’s safety briefing also covered surface assessment, looking and watching for an exit point, and that anyone interested in a safety/training event, please let him know.

Whitey stated that he is still working on the Iron Butt ride, but did not have any new information. He plans on making this a money raising event, with all proceeds going to “Children with Cancer”.

David reminded everyone about the summer “All-Okie” meeting which is scheduled for June 2nd, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at Cimarron Steak House. Whitey is also working on the ride info, more to follow.

David passed out the new t-shirt for the chapter. It really looks great! Good work David. Dave briefed that he has submitted to International a “sales permit” to be able to sell it outside out chapter and to also exchange the words “International” on the bottom rocker if requested.

David called the meeting to order at 6:56 pm.

Dan and Tracey conducted a 50/50 raffle. $35.00 was collected. David won the drawling and was given $17.50. The other half ($17.50) was placed into petty cash with the treasurer. Everyone enjoyed it and it will be something that we do each month.

Since there was not enough members at the February meeting, due mostly to the weather conditions, there was no secretary report (meeting minutes) to read/review. Dave presented the treasurer report. A motion was made to accept the treasurer’s report by Bryan and seconded by Gilbert (motion passed).

Bryan presented a possible ride that will be starting in Gainesville, Texas, on April 4th. The ride is to honor Medal of Honor awardee’s and will start around 9:30 am (ish) in Gainesville. Bryan also presented a quick class on how the proper way to plug a tire and offered for anyone that wanted some hands on training to just let him know.

Whitey stated that he is still working on the Iron Butt ride, but did not have any new information.

Our Vice President, Chisholm Hale, stated that he would like to step down from his office due to family and work responsibilities. Everyone took a vote and voted his request down with all members giving him the support and understanding that life does come first. This will be addressed this fall during elections.

Dan presented various Travel Oklahoma tourist info pamphlets. One of them having some new restaurants in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, that looked like it would be a nice place to ride too, everyone agreed.

David briefed everyone that he would like to have a summer “All-Okie” meeting on June 2nd, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at Cimarron Steak House. Everyone agreed it would be a fun event to plan and attend.

David is also going to work on a new t-shirt for the chapter.

David called the meeting to order at 7:08 pm.

Since we did not have a scheduled meeting in December, instead we had a Christmas party, there was no secretary report (meeting minutes) to read/review. Dave presented the treasurer report. A motion was made to accept the treasurer’s report by Ron and seconded by Bryan (motion passed).

Bryan reminded everyone to check their tire pressure, especially since the temperatures have been changing so much lately. He also gave a quick briefing on scanning your area for wild life, keeping your hands loose on the bar, and always looking for an exit. Also important during this time of year is looking for salt/sand on the roadways and bridges.

Whitey stated that when he a Stacey arrived at the mall to select a few Angel Tree present requests, they were all gone, so we did not participate as a chapter in this year’s program.

He also would like to put together an Iron Butt Ride this spring/summer. More to follow next month. He was thinking that we could make it into a fund raiser for Children with Cancer, possibly for St. Jude Children’s Hospitals – https://www.stjude.org/

David read a letter of appreciation to the chapter from Bill Phelps/Elaine Jones Community Resource Center for the $500.00 donation from the moneys collected at our annual Kiwanis Kiddieland Park fund raiser.

David asked if everyone would be interested in another “All-Okie-Meeting” again in the spring. Everyone was in support of it. More to follow.
